At least 100 people gathered on Place Chasseurs Ardennais in Schaerbeek at around noon on Sunday to pay tribute to Diana, a young woman fatally stabbed on 3 December.
Her ex-partner has been charged with her killing. The attendees then embarked on a silent march.
The procession, led by those closest to Diana, moved towards Ruya Café on Avenue du Diamant, an establishment run by the 36-year-old woman. Before the silent march began, one of Diana’s close friends spoke, thanking everyone for honouring her memory.
At around 20:40 on Tuesday, police were called to a woman who had been stabbed in the lobby of her building on Avenue du Diamant in Schaerbeek. Several officers arrived at the scene and administered first aid, but despite their efforts, and those of the emergency services, she could not be saved.
Two suspects were apprehended, and searches were conducted. The Brussels Public Prosecutor's Office assigned an investigating judge to lead the inquiry.
One of the suspects was released. The second suspect, identified as the victim's ex-partner, has been charged with her killing and placed under arrest by the judge.
