At least four persons suffered from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning in two separate incidents in Brussels on Wednesday.

In the first incident, a woman and her two sons were taken to hospital at around 6.00 p.m. after suffering CO poisoning in a house on Rue Docteur Huet in Anderlecht, the fire brigade said.

Around the same time, a young woman was rescued by the fire brigade for the same reason in Ixelles.

In both cases, the victims had lost consciousness by the time help arrived, but no one is in mortal danger.

The cause of their discomfort was linked to faulty gas burners.
