Two suspected drug traffickers have been charged by a magistrate from the Liège Public Prosecutor’s Office on Sunday.

The suspects, a man born in 1997 and his partner, were apprehended during a routine traffic stop in Liège. During the stop, officers noticed a strong cannabis odour coming from their vehicle.

Upon his arrest, the man was found in possession of cash and illegal drugs.

During a search of his partner’s home, investigators discovered various types of drugs, including ketamine, ecstasy (MDMA), cannabis and cocaine. Firearms, ammunition, and drug trafficking equipment were also seized.

The man is well-known to the justice system, having been previously convicted multiple times for drug-related offences.

An investigating judge has now taken over the case, and the public prosecutor’s office has charged both suspects.
