Six new emergency ambulances will join the fleet of the Red Cross of Belgium on Wednesday, the organisation announced on Monday.
This addition will bring the total number of active emergency ambulances in Wallonia to 55.
The Red Cross of Belgium, a major player in emergency medical aid with over 54,000 emergency interventions expected in 2024, will deploy the new ambulances strategically.
The new vehicles will be stationed in the rescue centres of Braine-l'Alleud, Oupeye, Namur, Ghlin, Ougrée, and Amay.
The organisation also stated that it plans to continue investing in its vehicle fleet in the coming years to "meet the increasing challenges of medical emergencies."
Last year, the Red Cross of Belgium acquired five vehicles for transporting people with reduced mobility.
