Three suspects have been arrested following the discovery of a man’s body buried in a field in Glabais (Genepiën), in Walloon Brabant last week.

The body of former Polish amateur boxer Bartosz Lapinski was found on Wednesday afternoon, buried one metre in the ground of the fields of Glabais, according to the Walloon Brabant Prosecutor’s Office.

Lapinski, born in 1991, had become homeless and was living in Eigenbrakel, where he was known for his addiction problems. He is believed to have been murdered in December 2024, after which his body was taken to Glabais.

Shortly after the body’s discovery, a man in his twenties, born in 2002 from Eigenbrakel, was arrested. This suspect was already known for drug offences.

Two other suspects were also detained: one born in 2005 with no known residence in Belgium, and another born in 2004 from Eigenbrakel. The court will decide on Monday afternoon whether to extend their detention.
