The Ronquières Festival, hosted annually in Wallonia's Braine-le-Comte region, has added another day to its line-up to host American hip-hop legend and actor Will Smith, the organisers announced on Friday.
Named 'Encore', this extra day is scheduled for Tuesday 5 August, following the usual three-day festival.
The American star will return to Belgium for the first time in 20 years for an exclusive performance. "We noticed the artist was touring all over Europe next summer, but not here. We saw an opportunity," said Gino Innocente, co-organiser of the Ronquières Festival. "Naturally, we are happy and proud to have secured this date."
In recent years, Will Smith has focused on his acting career in Hollywood, stepping away from music. His last album, 'Lost and Found', was released in 2005, but he has expressed a desire to return to the music scene and released several singles in 2024.
During his performance at Ronquières, the actor, who rose to fame with 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air', is likely to perform hits like 'Miami', 'Gettin' Jiggy Wit It', 'Wild Wild West', and 'Parents Just Don't Understand', which earned him a Grammy Award in 1988.

For technical reasons, including setup and logistical arrangements, the bonus day couldn't be scheduled on Monday 4 August, immediately after the festival. However, the organisers have promised special arrangements for festival-goers who have already purchased tickets and wish to extend their stay at the festival.
Tickets for the additional day will go on sale on at 10:00 on Thursday 6 February. Holders of the three-day pass for the Ronquières Festival will enjoy a discounted rate.
