Walloon public transport operator TEC Liège-Verviers has identified and fired the bus driver involved in a sexual incident with another person on a bus at a terminus in Seraing, which was filmed and widely shared on social media, spokesperson Isabelle Tasset said on Friday.

The incident occurred on Thursday, 20 February, late in the morning, in an empty bus stationed at the Beauséjour terminus in Seraing, near Rue de Plainevaux.

The area is frequently visited due to its proximity to the Air Pur Royal Atheneum. Nearby witnesses saw the sexual acts in the bus and filmed them. The video quickly spread on social media.

The video left little doubt about the inappropriate nature of the acts involving two people. TEC Liège-Verviers management promptly responded, expressing shock and announcing an investigation, noting that several drivers could have been involved due to the time and location.

On Friday, TEC confirmed that the investigation identified a bus driver involved. “Given the extreme seriousness of the facts, the company has decided to terminate his employment immediately. Such behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” said the spokesperson.

“The company will continue its efforts to ensure a public service based on ethical values and provide a calm and respectful environment for its passengers,” she added.
