Hundreds of scientists took to the streets across various cities in the United States on Friday to protest the Trump administration’s cuts to research funding.
These budget cuts have led to the dismissal of crucial staff and threaten life-saving research, according to the protesting researchers, doctors, students, and engineers.
The Trump administration has not only fired many health and climate researchers but also withdrawn from the World Health Organization and the Paris Climate Agreement, actions that have angered the demonstrators.
They are also outraged by Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s scepticism towards vaccines.
