In the West Flemish town of Zillebeke, a district of Ypres, a train collided with a car at a level crossing on Komenseweg at 10:42 on Saturday, according to railway network operator Infrabel.
It is still unclear if there were any victims in the car. Infrabel reported no casualties on the train.
The accident has disrupted train services between Poperinge and Menen, and the NMBS is providing replacement buses.
