A 36-year-old woman was stabbed on Sunday morning on Oranjestraat in Antwerp.
The local police confirmed that the woman is not in life-threatening condition and has been taken to hospital.
At around 10:15, security services received a report of a stabbing incident on Oranjestraat, near Park Spoor Noord. A medical emergency team provided first aid, and the forensic laboratory also arrived on the scene.
“We established a perimeter to give emergency services the necessary space and to preserve the crime scene,” said a police spokesperson. “The victim is a 36-year-old woman who has been transported to the hospital with several injuries.”
Shortly afterwards, the police arrested a 30-year-old man suspected of committing the attack. He will be questioned later today. The incident is believed to have occurred in a domestic context.
