A 32-year-old man was arrested after holding his ex-partner hostage for several hours on Sunday evening in Schilde, the Antwerp Public Prosecutor’s Office said on Monday.
The woman was not injured. The incident took place in an apartment, believed to be the victim’s residence.
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the event.
The suspect was apprehended at around 01:15 on Monday after a special police unit intervened.
