A parcel containing suspicious powder was discovered on Wednesday at the offices of the Régie des Bâtiments in Brussels, according to Brussels fire brigade officials.
Two individuals who came into contact with the parcel were decontaminated but are not showing any symptoms.
Emergency services were called at around 14:00 to the offices on Avenue de la Toison d'Or in Saint-Gilles.
Fire brigade spokesperson Walter Derieuw described the parcel as being the size of an A4 sheet of paper. The two individuals were quarantined on-site but appear unaffected by any hazardous substances.
Civil protection is on its way to retrieve the parcel for further analysis.
On Tuesday, a similar envelope containing suspicious powder was discovered at the post office on Rue de Laeken near the Brucity building. About 12 people were temporarily quarantined, none displaying symptoms.
Authorities are yet to determine if there is any connection between the two incidents.
