A violent gas explosion destroyed a house in Noville-sur-Mehaigne, in the municipality of Eghezée in Wallonia's Namur province on Thursday morning, killing a man and a woman.
The explosion is believed to have been caused by a gas build-up within the home. Authorities confirm that an investigation into the explosion has been launched.
The deceased man was born in 1959. A woman, born in 1939, was critically injured and later died in hospital.
“Initial findings suggest an accidental cause. However, an expert has been appointed to investigate,” said a spokesperson for the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
