International train traffic travelling through Belgium will be disrupted as a result of the week-long rail strike by the independent railway union METISP-Protect after all.
The latest strike in a series of actions by Belgian railways unions over the past months will start at 22:00 on Sunday and last eight days. Initially, it seemed only national train traffic would be disrupted, but some international operators have now also communicated adjusted schedules.
The Eurostar high-speed operator is cancelling two trains between Paris and Brussels on Monday. Affected passengers will be informed and can exchange their tickets free of charge or get their money back, the company said. If other journeys are cancelled, all passengers concerned will be informed.
Additionally, several Eurocity trains between Rotterdam and Brussels will be cancelled next week, announced Dutch railway company NS.
