Critics of billionaire Elon Musk have declared Saturday, March 29 as a global day of action against Tesla, the electric car manufacturer owned by Musk.
Protests are scheduled to take place at locations of the American company worldwide. Organisers are upset with Musk’s interventions as a White House adviser in various federal agencies in the United States.
“Elon Musk is destroying our democracy using the fortune he built with Tesla,” reads the action website of the TeslaTakedown movement, which emphasises peaceful protest. The site urges people to demonstrate and to sell their Tesla vehicles and shares.
Actions are also planned in Europe, according to the website. In the Netherlands, protests are set to take place in Amsterdam, Tilburg, and The Hague. However, no actions are planned in Belgium.

Musk, who supported Trump’s election campaign with hundreds of millions of dollars, heads the task-force DOGE, which is pushing for mass layoffs in the government and the dismantling of the aid organisation USAID.
Critics are concerned about possible conflicts of interest as the government is responsible for approving the safety of Tesla vehicles.
