Princess Claire of Belgium participated in a boxing training session at Sport2Be in Anderlecht on Saturday morning. Sport2Be aims to promote socio-professional integration of disadvantaged youth through sports.

The organisation offers 18 free weekly sports activities for young people aged 6 to 25 from underprivileged neighbourhoods in Brussels, such as the Kuregem neighbourhood in Anderlecht.

Nearly 2,000 young Brussels residents participate in these activities, which include boxing, basketball, dance, football, hockey, and strength training.

“Sport is universal, apolitical, and practised by all segments of the population without distinction. It is an excellent tool to help young people gain self-confidence and ensure their physical and mental well-being,” says the association, supported by the Queen Paola Foundation.

Founded in 2018, Sport2Be aims to provide a springboard for young people by supporting their education, career choices, and entry into the professional world.

Since 2021, the organisation includes a professional integration centre, which has facilitated 221 initial career experiences.

This season, more than 700 young people have participated in activities designed to support their professional development, including company visits, workshops, employer meet-and-greets, individual coaching, and CV writing assistance.

Around 11:00, Princess Claire began the boxing lesson with about ten young people and various coaches. The session included skipping rope, push-ups, and paired boxing training.

“We are very pleased that this visit has highlighted our association, its coaches, and all the young participants in our activities. We strongly believe in the power of sport as an integration tool,” said Sport2Be founder Tanguy Nève.
