Germans discover a Second World War shell in their garden

Residents of Erfurt, a town in central Germany with 200,000 population, discovered World War II ammunition in their garden on Saturday. Police reported on Sunday that the material was buried 20 centimetres beneath the grass.

Authorities swiftly arrived at the scene with specialised services. Experts identified the object as likely an anti-tank shell. The ammunition was safely neutralised in the afternoon.
