Thousands of teachers marched through the streets of Liège on Monday morning in response to a call from a coalition of trade unions to protest against new measures in French-speaking education sector.
Under the theme of Obstacle Course, the demonstration began at Place du 20 Août, in front of the University of Liège.
The mobilisation was against the cuts being brought in by the new Federal Government and the French Community Government, also known as the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
The march passed several notable locations in the city, including the Royal Opera of Wallonia, representing culture.

According to the unions, the procession comprised of 8,000 teachers and students and made a stop at the Montagne de Bueren.
These steep steps were chosen to symbolise the hardships of the teaching profession and the increasing challenges teachers face to attain a respectable pension at a reasonable age.
Liège police estimated the number of demonstrators at 4,500.
