Student in intensive care after 10-metre fall in Louvain-la-Neuve

A student was seriously injured on Wednesday evening after falling approximately ten metres in Louvain-la-Neuve, Brabant Wallon, local police reported on Thursday.

The 18-year-old French national was discovered unconscious around 23:00 on Rue des Frères Lumière, in the heart of the student city.

The student suffered a severe fall and was transported to Clinique Saint-Pierre in Ottignies.

Upon arrival at the emergency service, his condition was critical. He remained in intensive care on Thursday.

According to surveillance camera footage reviewed by investigators, the young man attempted to access an underground car park. As the gates were closed, he climbed a wall and fell.
