Hundreds of small Quran books have been found on car windshields throughout the city of Liège.

While the Liège police have not identified any infractions, they have launched an investigation, according to the Belga news agency. The books were placed on vehicles in several city districts, including Droixhe, Coronmeuse, Bressoux, Longdoz, Outremeuse, and on Churchill and Marcellis Quays.

Local residents were the first to alert the police to this phenomenon. Some Qurans were also discovered in letterboxes and a synagogue.

Two individuals were seen placing the books on car windshields, but their motivations are currently unknown. Surveillance camera footage is being analysed. So far, no infractions have been detected. The State Security Service has been contacted regarding the matter.
