The 27th edition of Folknam, Namur’s festival of folklore and traditions, began on Saturday morning at Place d’Armes. The festivities will continue throughout the city until the evening, with organisers expecting thousands of attendees.
Throughout the day, Place d’Armes will be the focal point of the Namur folklore event. The programme features traditional dances, a ball, food stalls, and period games for all ages. Since 14:15, Place Maurice Servais has come alive with a concert by Les Molons, followed at 15:15 by the festival’s final rondeau.
The event extends to the streets of Namur, with a procession showcasing numerous groups and individuals from Namur’s folklore, including the Giants of Namur, the Caracole, the Peket Brotherhood of Namur, the Saint-Eloi walkers of Vedrin, as well as Don Juan of Austria and Queen Margot.
