The Brussels-Capital/Ixelles police zone officially opened a new police station on Avenue Impératrice Charlotte in Laeken, opposite the Heysel metro station, on Saturday.
This new station replaces the older one on Avenue Houba De Strooper, which had become outdated. The inauguration took place at midday, attended by Brussels Mayor Philippe Close and the police zone chief, Michel Goovaerts.
This move is part of a broader renovation strategy by the police zone, following previous upgrades to local stations in Haren and the European district of Brussels. The new facility features a brand-new reception area for citizens, meeting all necessary security standards and offering convenient public transport access.
Sixteen officers will be stationed here, enjoying more comfortable working spaces. The police station will be open to the public on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 08:00 to 16:00, and on Thursdays from 12:00 to 20:00. Outside these hours, visits are by appointment via the Brussels-Capital/Ixelles police website.
