Held in Anwerps' historic Handelsbeurs, the 2025 Michelin Guide Ceremony Belgium and Luxembourg awarded stars to cream of the crop restaurants throughout the two countries.

The ceremony oversaw the distribution of 13 new stars in total, 11 of which were awarded to Belgian establishments. It was hosted by Simone van Trie.

The gothic setting in one of the oldest stock exchanges in Europe proved an ideal location for the celebration of culture. Warm welcomes were offered to Antwerp's mayor Els van Doesburg, Michelin Benelux Director Alex Verhoeve, and International Director of the Guide Gwendal Poullennec, all of whom spoke at the event.

Recently flaunting three new Brussels additions to Michelins' 'Bib Gourmand' guide in April 2025, the city proudly celebrates its growing gastronomic scene.

Second-star up for grabs

Brussels' very own Eliane, named after the chefs' grandmother and located in the historic centre of the city was included in the line-up. Comprised of an 18-course tasting menu, chef Kobe Desramaults' concept changes daily to reflect available fresh produce and creative spontaneity.

The menu includes a medley of small plates and full dishes. Recognised by Gault&Millau in February as "a timeless culinary journey highly recommended," the intimate setting and culinary expertise transports gastronomers through a captivating sensory experience.

Chef Thijs Vervloets' Maison Colette in the province of Antwerp is the sole newcomer of Belgian Michelin two-star restaurants, accompanied by Restaurant Léa Linster in Frisange, Luxembourg. Classic French-style cuisine set in a luxurious refurbished countryside home with five guest rooms provides a dream break. The à la carte menu presents Belgian veal tartare, chicken cooked on a spit with seasonal vegetables, and home-made ice cream with crepes.

Twenty-two restaurants throughout Belgium and Luxembourg currently hold two Michelin-stars. Boury in Flanders and the Zilte restaurant in Antwerp have retained their three Michelin stars this year, keeping them at the top of the rankings.

There have been no new three-star restaurants in Belgium and Luxembourg.

The Michelin Green Star

’T Gasthuis by Instroomart in Flanders and Sophie et Nicolas in Wallonia were presented with a green star, a recent addition to the Michelin Guide that celebrates establishments making progressive efforts to maintain sustainable daily practices.

The former is a social employment project working alongside newcomers, refugees and other disadvantaged people where they can eat free of charge. The restaurant prides itself on supporting organic farming and short supply chains.

The full list of Belgian restaurants newly granted a first star includes Vicomté in Roucourt, Eliane in Brussels, Mémoire in Bruges, Un Max de Gout in Comblain-au-Pont, Haut in Ostend, Le Beau Rivage By Curtis in Dave (Namur), La Botte in Genk, Bistrot Blaise in Marche-en-Famenne, Le Julien in Lotenhulle, Modest in Opglabbeek and Fields in Findel.
