Significant disruptions are expected on the E40 towards Brussels at the Sint-Stevens-Woluwe junction from 20:00 on 30 April until 4 May, according to the Roads and Traffic Agency.

The agency is repairing a 2.5-km stretch of road. The asphalt surface of the right lane and the connecting loop to the Brussels Ring are being renewed due to rutting caused by heavy goods traffic.

To ensure safety, the contractor will close two lanes on the E40. The Sterrebeek entry and the exit to the Brussels Ring will also be closed during the works.

Traffic on the E40 wishing to access the Ring will need to continue on the E40, then turn around at the on- and off-ramp complex at Gemeenschappenlaan in Evere. From there, drivers can join the inner or outer Brussels Ring via the Cora roundabout near the Sint-Stevens-Woluwe junction.

Drivers travelling from Nossegem towards Brussels must take the detour via Mechelsesteenweg (N227) and follow the E40 towards Liège, turning around at the Bertem junction.

Those travelling towards the airport should expect delays and significant disruptions during the extended weekend of 1 May.
