The auction for frequencies to run a mobile network with faster 5G connections raised over €1.4 billion for the Belgian treasury, according to telecom regulator BIPT.
It had earlier been announced that the auction had yielded at least €1.2 billion, but that was before the final auction for the 1,400MHz radio frequency band.
That auction raked in another €216.5 million, the regulator announced on Wednesday.
This brought total proceeds from the radio spectrum auction to more than €1.42 billion.
