Today (Wednesday) and tomorrow, temperatures will once again reach 30°C or higher in Belgium, however, this period of warmth will be followed by slightly cooler temperatures in the coming week.

The coming two days will once again bring beautiful summer weather (if a bit hot in some places) to people living in Belgium. According to the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI), temperatures will peak at 26°C at sea and reach 31°C in the centre of the country. While it will be cloudy throughout the day, there will be occasional sunny spells.

Overnight, temperatures will drop to values between 12°C in the Ardennes and 20°C in the big cities. The following day, the mercury will once again rise, and temperatures could even reach 32°c in the centre of the country. It will remain dry in most places with an alternation of sunny spells and high clouds.

Relief from the heat

On Friday, the situation will take a turn for the worse as showers will occur, starting from the west. "These will sometimes be intense and accompanied by thunderstorms," according to RMI. Temperatures will drop to 21 or 22°C in the far west to 26°C in the Kempen and Belgian Lorraine.
