Flow, the only open-air swimming pool in the Brussels region, will close on Sunday 18 September after its second summer of water-based fun with a mini-festival as this year's closing event.
The temporary open-air swimming pool Flow, on the Pierre Marchant bridge, on the canal in Anderlecht reopened to the general public on 1 July. For many Brussels residents, it was a welcome refreshment during the unusually hot summer, showed by the fact that the time slots were often, if not always, full.
Pool is Cool, the non-profit organisation behind Flow, started the crowdfunding campaign “Je Veux Nager” at the start of its swimming season to raise €60,000 to ensure the survival of the pop-up pool. Thanks to 884 donations, €61,671 was raised. With this, Flow will be further expanded with ecological water purification with plant filters, a sauna or hammam, and free swimming lessons for children and adults.

The end of the summer season and the successful crowdfunding campaign are celebrated during the mini-festival. Everyone is welcome between 2 and 10 pm for concerts and a drink at the bar. Tropicant, Vega and Vieze Girl, who each made a cover of the song “Je veux nager” by Arno, will perform.
Admission to the concerts is free, but a reservation is required for swimming.
