The four largest Belgian television channels: La Une (RTBF), Eén (VRT), RTL-TVI and VTM attracted a total of 1.2 million viewers for their live broadcast of Queen Elizabeth II's funeral on Monday, 19 September.
These figures come from the CIM, the Belgian institution that aggregates media data for the advertising sector, and they also compared viewing figures between Belgium's public and private TV channels.
The public television channels attracted a total of 659,310 viewers with 246,057 for RTBF against 413,253 for VRT.
In comparison, the French-language private channel RTL-TVI amassed 318,434 viewers and the Flemish channel VTM attracted 235,610 spectators.

Contacted by Belga News Agency, a spokesperson for the RTBF indicated that their whole coverage of the funeral, not only their live coverage, saw them attract a total of 1,285 million viewers of the French-speaking public on Monday.
Flemish public channel VTM's viewing figures for the whole day of coverage was 1.3 million, with a further million spectators following the funeral on a livestream on Het Laatste Nieuws' website.
