The Belgian Football Union, URBSFA, will set up an oriental village in Vilvoorde for the Red Devils' supporters during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
URBSFA made the announcement on Thursday, on the occasion of the launch of the #DEVILTIME campaign.
The campaign was launched for the first time last year, on the occasion of Euro 2020. This time around, it will have Lawrence of Arabia as its theme.
The aim is to immerse the many fans who stay in Belgium in the magical atmosphere of the Arabian Nights tales and to allow them to dream of a beautiful and successful World Cup, URBSFA said in a statement.
Campaign activities include a treasure hunt with QR codes of Devils that fans can exchange for gadgets (signed jerseys, smartphones, footballs, concert tickets) or a world of the Belgian Union in the video game Roblox.
During the competition, URBSFA says, it will transform the Asiat Park in Vilvoorde into a “huge oriental village" where fans can follow all the Belgian matches live on big screens in a fairytale-like setting, with fortune tellers, belly dancers, fire-eaters and DJs.
The Fan Village will be open on the Red Devils’ match days - Wednesday 23 November (versus Canada), Sunday 27 November (vs. Morocco) and Thursday 1 December (against Croatia) - and subsequent matches in the event of qualification. The tickets are already on sale for €10 each.
