Following a stormy Sunday evening, brighter days are on the cards for Belgium with spring-like temperatures and an abundance of sunshine that is unusual for this time of year.
The effects of the cold front that passed through the country on Sunday evening from the southwest, bringing disturbances in the form of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall locally, will continue to develop throughout the day on Monday, which will be changeable and rather windy with showers to start off with, especially at the Belgian coast.
During the night from Monday to Tuesday, the sky will remain partly cloudy but it will be dry inland. On Tuesday, the day will start relatively cloudy, but by the afternoon, the skies will clear with the mercury reaching 17°C in the centre of the country.
By Wednesday, spring-like weather with sunny spells will arrive in Belgium. Temperatures will be slightly milder with maxima ranging from 17°C in the Ardennes to 20°C in the Kempen region, according to weather reports from the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI).
The mercury will continue to rise on Thursday, reaching between 18 to 20°C in High Belgium and 20 to 22°C elsewhere, and sunshine in most places, alternated with occasional light cloud cover.
Heading into the final weekend of October, the climate will remain unusually warm and sunny for this time of year. Both Friday and Saturday will be mild with maximum temperatures ranging between 18 to 22°C and clear skies.
