Today (Tuesday 1 November) marks All Saints' Day, when many attend church and visit cemeteries to lay flowers and candles on the graves of deceased loved ones. Bus services to and from cemeteries in Brussels will be increased to accommodate them.
Many people are expected to visit graveyards across the Brussels region on Tuesday. To make these locations more accessible without the need for cars, public transport operator STIB is adapting bus routes towards the cemeteries of Uccle, Anderlecht, Brussels, Etterbeek and Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe during their opening hours.
The routes of various bus lines will be slightly adjusted during cemetery opening hours on Tuesday 1 November, STIB announced.
Lines 59 and 63 will be re-routed between 07:30 and 16:30 to serve the Jules Bordet stop, near the cemeteries of Brussels, Schaerbeek and Evere. Lines 73 and 74 will be altered to provide access to the Anderlecht cemetery between 08:00 and 16:30.
