After more than a week of consistent sub-zero temperatures, Belgium officially recorded its coldest night on Saturday, with the mercury dropping to -6.8°C at the monitoring station of the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI) in Uccle.
Announcing the news on Twitter, meteorologist David Dehenauw highlighted other weather stations in the country that also saw the coldest temperatures
It was also the coldest night in several other parts of the country such as Chièvres in the province of Hainaut (-9.5°C), Dourbes in the province of Namur (-10.8°C), Zaventem in Flemish Brabant (-7.2°C) and in Sint-Katelijne-Waver in the province of Antwerp (-8.9°C).

In the provinces of Liège and Luxembourg, however, the night of 14 to 15 December was even colder.
