Brussels Airlines has announced that 270,000 passengers have booked flights between 24 December and 8 January, of which up to 10% are taking off on Friday, 23 December. This represents a 28% increase compared to the 2021 end of year holidays.
On Monday, Brussels Airlines released figures showing a substantial increase in their flight bookings between 24 December and 8 January – which provides some good news for the company's end-of-year profits.
With over 270,000 passengers expected to take off with Brussels Airlines during this period, this represents a 28% increase in bookings compared to last year, which was still marred by the pandemic. Furthermore, this increase stands at 31% for long-haul flights and 27% for medium-haul flights.

The airline also revealed that their busiest departure day is expected to be this Friday, 23 December, with over 20,000 passengers departing the country, with Boxing Day on 26 December closely following behind.
Additionally, the Spanish city of Malaga is the most popular European destination for passengers, with New York City the most popular outside of the continent.
