Anderlecht are back with their former coach Felice Mazzu after a 0-1 win at Charleroi in the 18th round of the Jupiler Pro League on Monday.
It was the first win for the new coach Brian Riemer. In the first half of the game there was very little in terms of chances and was marked by the exit of Zeno Debast (21st) due to injury.
The first clear chance of the game came after a stoppage time. Daan Heymans cut out Isaac Mbenza’s corner, but Bart Verbruggen, who replaced Hendrik Van Crombrugge who was ill, was able to relax (36th).
After the break, Anderlecht came back on the pitch with better intentions. Mario Stroeykens received a second ball after a free kick and his shot went just wide of Hervé Koffi’s goal (53rd).
The home side’s second goal of the season came in the 57th minute when Francis Amuzu got in front of Koffi’s goal, but his shot lacked the power to beat the goalkeeper.
In the 75th minute, Charleroi had a chance to score when Mbenza tried to beat Verbruggen but the Charleroi striker took too long to get his shot away.

The goal was marked as an own goal and what would end up being the match winner.
