A fishing vessel, the Cutter Z525 Sylvia Mary, struck rocks off Cornwall in the southwest of England at around 18:00 on Monday, Le Soir reports. The vessel began to take on water and its crew sent out a distress signal.

"Four crew from a fishing vessel which stuck rocks at Land's End have been rescued this evening and recovered back to the Penlee Boathouse by Sennen RNLI all-weather lifeboat. Penzance Coastguard Rescue Team and the Fisherman's Mission assisted them with welfare on arrival," a spokesperson for the HM Coastguard said.

All members of the crew, four Dutch nationals, were later rescued by a British rescue vessel, after which the boat sank. Rescue efforts were aided by a Royal Navy helicopter. According to the British HM Coastguard service, "all crew have been accounted for and are safe and well."

The boat sails under the Belgian flag and is based in the port of Zeebrugge. The fishing boat was a beam-trawler, which drags nets along the ocean floor.
