Belgian football's leading body the Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) appointed Manu Leroy on Monday as its interim CEO, replacing the recently dismissed Peter Bossaert.
The RBFA has announced that he will combine his roles as Director of Marketing and Communication with this temporary position of CEO, while the Belgian FA decides on Bossaert's full-time replacement.
The interim CEO has been working at the Belgian FA since 2019 and was previously a professional hockey player who represented Belgium at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
The former CEO's contract was terminated on 23 March after the RBFA's board of directors ruled that an unapproved pay rise Bossaert had given himself in 2022 did not comply with their internal rules.
