The French-speaking company court in Brussels will examine the dispute between the Toots consortium (Besix, Jan De Nul and Franki Construct) and the STIB public transport operator on 9 May, in connection with the construction of metro line 3.
The hearing, initially scheduled for 13 April, has been postponed to 9 May. The dispute between the consortium of construction companies and the Brussels public transport company concerns work to be carried out under the Palais du Midi as part of the construction of the new metro line 3, which will link Evere to Forest.
The consortium is contesting the penalties imposed by the public transport company because of the stoppage of the work.

- How is STIB planning to improve Brussels transport over the next few years?
The contractors encountered difficulties when the swampy subsurface beneath the Palais du Midi complicated the planned tunnel. They subsequently raised their projected costs considerably, with the work estimated to amount to €170 million.
STIB considers this amount unreasonable and ordered the consortium to resume the work and honour previous contracts. The consortium protested in January with STIB claiming damages of €50,000 per day of delay.
