A fugitive on Belgium's Most Wanted list was arrested in the Belgian capital by the Fugitive Active Search Team (FAST) and the Brussels-Midi police zone on Monday.
Mohamed Ben Brahim had been on the run since Friday after evading arrest on charges of sexual abuse, rape and kidnapping.
The Public Prosecutor's Office and the judge in charge of the ongoing investigation had tasked FAST and local police to track the suspect.
Ben Brahim was subsequently located by FAST in the municipality of Saint-Gilles. He was then found in an apartment where his arrest was carried out.

The police claimed that this "rapid" arrest was made possible by the cooperation between the police and judiciary services.
Authorities also stated that the operation "once again proved the added value" of Belgium's Most Wanted list through its appeal to the general public for any additional information.
