A person has been shot dead in Ghent while walking along Franklin Roosevelt Boulevard, Le Soir reports.
Ghent police, as well as Federal Police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office, are currently investigating the crime scene to establish the circumstances behind the murder.
“Around 05:45, I heard two men arguing in the hallway,” one resident of a building located near the scene of the incident told the press.
“Then there was a bang. At first, I thought it was a trash can lid closing, so I was shocked when I saw emergency services arriving.”
The motives behind the murder are still unknown.
The suspect has not been captured by the police.
