Saturday’s Eurovision Song Contest final attracted more than 300,000 viewers on French-speaking media RTBF, and more than 1.3 million viewers on Flemish media VRT.
The final of the 67th Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on Saturday evening, was watched in large parts of the country.
An average of 1,332,000 viewers (74% market share) watched it on Flemish public television and an average of 310,000 (34% market share) watched it on French-speaking public television.
These figures do not include the audience that watched the contest on streaming platforms, foreign channels or even on deferred viewing.
As a comparison, there were 350,000 in front of RTBF and almost 1.1 million last year to watch Jérémie Makiese perform his song “Miss You” – which finished in 19th place.
On Saturday, the Belgian Gustaph and his dance hit “Because of You” finished in 7th place, surpassing all expectations both at home and abroad.
