The Eupen Musik Marathon, one of the first festivals of the summer season, will be held on 3 and 4 June in the capital of the German-speaking Community of Belgium.
Around 40 artists and groups will be performing on seven stages set up in various locations around the city. There will also be an array of events and food stalls in the streets.
As with previous editions, the line-up is set to be an eclectic mix of music, with rock, electro, world, classical, blues and jazz acts taking to the stages.
While the festival attracted some big names in the 2000s, the organisers have always attempted to ensure a range of both national and international artists.
This year, the organisers' intention is to promote local artists by giving them the opportunity to perform on stage, says Konstanze Keller, communications manager for the Chudoscnik Sunergia Association, which organises the event.
The regional artists include S'Nana, a women's choir from Aubel, the Liège-based duo La Valise, the DIRK group and musician Michael Schneider from Deidenberg. International artists include South African singer-songwriter Nomfusi and Germany's Thomas D and the KBCS.

For the first time, the Eupen Musik Marathon will also feature a full night of electro music. Around ten DJs will be performing in two rooms at the former abattoir.
Access to the various venues and concerts is free.
