A man who pushed his wife and baby son through a window at their home in Hoeilaart is to remain in custody, the Brussels Council Chamber ruled on Tuesday.
According to the Hal-Vilvoorde public prosecutor’s office, the man confessed to the crime and is under arrest for attempted murder. He will be presented to an examining magistrate on Friday, the prosecutor’s office said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred during a violent brawl that broke out in the family's home on Wednesday night. Emergency services received a call at around 3:30am and subsequently took three family members to hospital.
The 10-month-old baby suffered a broken leg, while its mother sustained a back injury, and had to undergo surgery. For this reason, she could not yet be heard.
The accused was also injured.
