The first heat wave of the year is set to start this Sunday and last through the week.
Temperatures on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week may reach 30 degrees or higher. The heat wave will last until the end of the week, with a high temperature on Thursday of 29.
To be classified as a heat wave, the weather must be above 25 degrees for five days, and the temperature on three out of the five days must be at least 30 degrees.
This heatwave comes a few weeks earlier than the first one last year, which started July 13, according to Het Nieuwsblad.
