Bars around the Place Flagey area must close their outdoor terraces at 00:30, according to new city policy.
This new time is a half-hour earlier than before, when bars closed their terraces at 1:00, according to RTBF. Bars must put all outdoor furniture away by 00:30 or face fines.
The goal of this policy is to reduce the noise level around Flagey, which has a sizable population.
Ixelles mayor Christos Doulkeridis said that the regulations will create peace and quiet for those who live around Flagey.
These new regulations were adopted by the Ecolo-PS majority on the town council last week. The regulations take effect on Friday, 28 June.
