A member of staff at the Tomorrowland music festival has been found dead on the staff campsite, reports Flemish media organisations Het Laatste Nieuws, Het Nieuwsblad and VRT, on Saturday morning.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of a member of our team,” said the Tomorrowland organisation in a statement published on Friday night.
The cause of death has not yet been determined.
According to the organisation, the emergency services arrived on the scene quickly but were unable to do anything to save the victim.
The Antwerp Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation.
To avoid interfering with the case, the organisation has made it clear that it will no longer communicate on the issue, leaving any future statement to the public prosecutor.
