Favourable weather forecasts will attract strollers over the weekend and for the Assumption holiday on Tuesday.
Hotel occupancy rates are already at 85%, and even 90% for Saturday overnight stays, according to figures from tourist board Westtoer published on Thursday.
A third of bookings were made by international tourists. Most of these holidaymakers come from Germany, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
“Many day-trippers are also expected due to the favourable weather forecasts. According to these, the coast should in fact benefit from 30% more sunshine than the inland areas”, adds the tourism body.
In July, the number of tourist overnight stays dropped this year compared to the same month last year, likely due to the cold, wet weather.
