In the East Flemish town of Zevergem, an illegal rave took place during the night from Saturday to Sunday, which lasted until early afternoon on Sunday, Het Laatste Nieuws reports.

Local residents made complaints about noise pollution and the police agreed with the revellers that they should be gone by Sunday afternoon, says acting mayor Lieve Van Lancker of De Pinte.

The party took place along the Trekweg, a towpath along the Scheldt in Zevergem, an area of the municipality of De Pinte.

Following complaints of noise pollution, the police arrived at the scene. It was agreed with revellers that the party should stop at 14:00 on Sunday, and they did.
