Despite the fact that temperatures are expected to be high all of next week and will likely flirt with 30°C locally from Wednesday, the warm weather will likely not turn into a heatwave.
A high-pressure area is expected to keep the rain and cold away until at least next weekend, setting Belgium up for a week of very sunny and warm weather with little wind.
Maximum temperatures will rise to up to 27°C in the centre of the country on Monday, and up to 29°C on Tuesday. From Wednesday, Belgium is heading for 29°C until Saturday.
"Locally, that might reach 30°C," said VRT weather reporter Sabine Hagedoren. "In Uccle, maximum temperatures will go up to 29°C, so we will probably fall short of a heatwave."
