The French Community Government announced a €250,000 call for projects on Monday to support the development of cultural and creative industries, under the name 'Museum.Expo.Tech'.

As part of its Recovery Plan, the French-speaking government intends, at the initiative of its Minister-President, Pierre-Yves Jeholet, to support these industries "by creating bridges between the cultural and technological sectors, promoting an exchange of knowledge and the positioning of local operators within cutting-edge international collaborations", it said in a press release.

The Museum.Expo.Tech call aims to fund international projects that integrate digital technologies into museums or exhibitions in a relevant and innovative way. The French Community Government says that these digital technologies must be used to mediate with audiences, and/or play a relevant role in the production of permanent or temporary exhibitions.

Museum.Expo.Tech grants will amount to between €25,000 and €100,000 per winner. The total amount dedicated to the Museum.Expo.Tech initiative is €250,000.

Any public or private cultural operators active in the museum and exhibition production sectors and located in the French-speaking community are welcome to apply. As the Museum.Expo.Tech call is aimed at international collaborations, all applications must involve at least one European partner from outside Belgium, states the press release.

The deadline for applications is noon on Monday 13 November 2023. The winners will be selected in December and the projects will begin in 2024.
