Dutch police have arrested 42-year-old Elhassan A, head of the No Surrender motorcycle gang, at a campsite in Lochem, in the Dutch province of Gelderland.

The No Surrender “captain” had been wanted since December 2022, after being sentenced to a total of 10 years in prison in Belgium - Brussels and Antwerp. “The man has been jailed and the Amsterdam court will decide on his extradition to Belgium,” Dutch police said.

Elhassan A.., a German national, had been sentenced to four years’ imprisonment by the Antwerp Criminal Court in June 2022 for violating the Weapons Act and participating in a criminal organisation.

A little more than a year earlier, in May 2021, the Antwerp police’s Rapid Response Team (SRT) had intercepted two vehicles in Borgerhout, with five armed members and future members of No Surrender on board.

The investigation revealed that these vehicles were heading for a certain A.A., who had been accused of theft by the motorcycle gang and was to be forced to return the stolen goods. According to the court, the order for the punitive expedition had clearly come from “Captain” Elhassan A., “Gold President” Herman B. and his son “Nomad” Dave B..

A few months after this first conviction, in November 2022, the Brussels Criminal Court sentenced Elhassan A. to six years’ imprisonment for trafficking in human beings, exploitation of prostitution and membership of a criminal organisation, for forcing a woman into prostitution.

The victim had stated that she had been Elhassan A.’s “property” since 2014 and that he had forced her into prostitution in Germany. The immediate arrest of Elhassan A., who was absent from the trial, was ordered.

Belgian police suspected the man was hiding in the Netherlands and notified their Dutch colleagues, who located A. at the campsite in Lochem.
